I agree he looked terrible. However, this is only one performance and sometimes too much can be read into one performance. I think the key point you make is that it did look like he was overthinking it, rather than systematically attacking as he did earlier in his career. Atlas or any other trainer would do well to keep Povetkin's old style but sprinkle in things like a bit more head movement or a bob and weave (sound familiar??) to get him on the inside against taller fighters. When you take his aggression away, you take away his greatest asset. I also think that one or two fights isn't really enough of a body of work to pass total judgment.
