Boytsov's not bad, but he has a lot of shortcomings. His handspeed isn't the best, and he's not the overwhelming puncher that fans originally thought he was. Boytsov's chin has not been tested, and his capacity to fight back under pressure has not been established. There's also the question of whether his defense is good enough to hang in there with the big boys.
I liked Boytsov's kayo over Bidenko. That impressed me. But I didn't like that Boytsov couldn't stop Maddalone. I also thought that Boytsov's kayo over Jason Gavern was suspect: it looked like the German officials stopped the fight too soon. Just my impression.
I'm not saying Boytsov is bad, but he needs a little more rounding out at the top before the world gets high on him.
