Pretty amazing really when you think about someof the hugfests we get treated to these days - especially when you think that it was only towards the end of the 15th and final round that Ez Charles back actually touched the ropes for the first time in the fight!! Just incredible!!
Amazing performance by Charles...whe demonstated balls, determination and chin he should be given credit for having an awesome chin in that 1st rocky fight..maybe he used that chin up that night...Charles, according to a '54 yearbook that I have, said afterwards.."I wasn't thinking about the pain...pain's a part of this business"..
