Anything I can do?
I did sparring the other day, I hadn't sparred in weeks and felt awful. Anything I can do to help the following for sparring, at home? - Emotion control - Getting rid of nervous energy or controlling it - Controlling adrenaline - Reflexes etc Thanks. PS. Yes I train hard away from the club regardless, heavy lifting, bag work, running since today! etc. But I need to think about the above... |

easier said than done though, when I'm standing outside the ring I'm like calm down, calm down, but the more I think about it the more I get hyped up.
It's alright, but too much of it makes me feel weak in the arms and legs and I gas out quick. Any tips on how to actually relax? |

MattV all of the above that you talk about is controlled with your mind except reflexes its maybe 1/2 mental, 1/2 conditioning. If you shadow box at home, think of it as a spar. But relax you mind, let everything flow. Try not to get to excited. Work your whole game punches footwork slips, etc. Whatever you learned up until this point. Perfect it.
Another thing when sparring, don't get to excited when you get punched/ kicked, etc. Relax cause your turn will come. Hold your composure. Even if you get punched a hard one. |

1. Ice my hands and face.
2. Take ibuprofen 3. Clean my nose out. 4. Cold shower. 5. Couple minutes of flexing in the mirror. 4. Gold Bond on my nutsack (this is just for fun). 5. Rock out to something awesome on my way to the gym. |

in sparring make sure you smash your opponent, it is imperative...
fuck this talk about sparring meant to help each otherm just bash the cunt, thats how it work. At the start of your career you get bashed then after a while you do the bashing. Its the way the cooky crumbles |

and yes I ran 2 miles for the first time yesterday in months and months, going to add roadwork to my regime - will probably help a lot... How much should I be running a week, if I have say two runs a week? I'm starting small and going to build it up... ran 2 miles in under 15:30 which is pretty bad but I was going at a steady pace and wasn't looking to make a PR or anything |

Have a plan and try to execute it.
Going to Spar tomorrow after having not done so for ages and being out of shape due to recent illness (not the Chagaev type) |
