Default Joe Bugner vs Corrie Sanders

Interesting matchup imo, I'm not sure who wins this one.

Sanders would have the edge in power and speed, as well as being the better counterpuncher and throwing better combos.

Bugner had better stamina and a better chin too. I think this would be a pretty good fight regardless of the outcome

Corrie Sanders would have done to Bugner the same thing he did to Wlad, IMO,..Bugner would have resembled, as he always did, a very large statue carved out of soap..and Sanders would have unloaded early on him with those fast, lethal shots he was capable of.

I don't know about that. Bugner was considerably more durable then Wlad. and Bugner would never expose himself like Wlad did.

I feel Sanders probably does get the left hand in there at some point, but it would take a while, imo.

Hang on.

Bugner was a good fighter.

Sanders was a fighter with one good win.

I know that Wlad is rightly riding high at the moment, but look at the rest of Sanders resume.

you too?

I honestly don't see how people are picking Sanders so easy. Sanders might stop him but it will not be early.

Bugner was too cautious and had good enough defense to avoid Sanders bombs. Bugner will probably be moving and boxing with that good jab of his until he gets caught. By the mid rounds.

Sanders has more speed, more power, throw more punches, and is more aggressive.

Bugner was more defensive, had better stamina, and took a better punch.

I think Sanders out points a passive minded Bugner, or takes him out late.

Bugner.

A very very durable fighter and I think this goes like the Lyle fight, except Sanders fades late much more than Ron. But that negative style and won't take a chance Bugner habit helps him in this matchup. I don't know if he can handle a southpaw though because there just weren't many around in Joe's day. He could be very confused by that and lose.

Speaking of Bugner, I would have liked Foreman to have fought the guy instead of Ali in 74 and get some rounds in. Make Muhammad wait a little longer--what else was he going to do? Then get George some rounds against a durable type guy & not a big threat. A tougher bout than Roman, but a beatable guy.

Bugner. I think he's a much more accomplished fighter, fought the best in the world, going the distance. A good boxer and better overall fighter than Sanders, who until his big win, I considered to be a fringe contender at best.

Sanders hit hard enough, with fast enough hands, and a good boxing brain that he could out point Bugner, and that's the result I would pick. I don't see how people are so convinced Bugner is getting iced here. He had a granite chin and he was so cautious.

As someone else here already stated , Bugner was nothing special , however , Sanders was.
Sanders even did what Wladimir and many more really could not do , outpoint (for what points worth in this sport) Ross Puritty over 12 rounds.
Puritty was way more dangerous and durable than Bugner , and Sanders would have either outpoint or stop (possible at any stage of the fight) Bugner.
