Default please answer! what do you thnk of my workout routine

this is for when i am not at the boxing gym...
My boxing preparation to fight regime

*My own run thing is running fast (65-75%) for 2 mins then 1 min rest, aiming for 4 in the first cycle, adding 1 more set with each cycle.
* I am doing Tabata for 2 mins so- 20 sec sprint 10 sec rest *4, then 1 min rest, I will do this 3 times, if possible I will add another at the last week

Roadwork(first 1-2 weeks)

Mon-.My own run thing*
Tue-.Tabata sprints*
Wed-. (May have football training)
Thu- Rest
Fri-.My own run thing*
Sat-.Tabata sprints*
Sun-. Rest

2-3 weeks
Mon-.My own run thing*
Tue-.Tabata sprints*
Wed-. (May have football training)
Thu- 3 miles at fastest time possible
Fri-.My own run thing*
Sat-.Tabata sprints*
Sun-. Rest

3-5 weeks
Mon-. My own run thing*
Tue-. Tabata sprints*
Wed-. 3 miles at fastest time possible ( if I donít have training/or it is not intense)
Thu- Tabata sprints*
Fri-. My own run thing*
Sat-. Tabata sprints*
Sun-. Rest

Last week (all done with ankle weights)

Mon-. My own run thing*
Tue-. Tabata sprints*
Wed-. 3 miles at fastest time possible (if I donít have training/or it is not intense)
Thu- Tabata sprints*
Fri-. My own run thing*
Sat-. Tabata sprints*
Sun-. Rest

1-week rest before fight.




*Cards are where you shuffle a whole deck of cards and: you would choose press-ups as red, squats as black; you do the number of exercises depending on the number on the card. Kings and queens are 10, jacks are 1


Things I will do at home
Mon-. Tabata bag work, cards*
Tue-. Core work
Wed-. Strength training
Thu- Cards*, core work
Fri-. Tabata bag work
Sat-. Cards*, core work
Sun-. Strength training

what do you think of it? this is too prepare me for fights and this is all for fitness and too get my body in shape. please give CONSTRUCTIVE critacism and offer to improve it for me
i will be at the gym 4-5 times a week doing sparing, pads etc...

I think you way over doing it if you are competing for a amature fight. I don't do anything like that good run in morn bag work pad work usual push sit up routine and some hard quality sparring. there is no substitute for sparring

would i still be over doing it if i only do tabata's 3 times a week on the last week of training

You can't tabata sprint- its impossible. All your doing is a sub maximal interval run.

If you want all of your energy spent doing Tabata intervals as opposed to sparring then do them. However, you should be sparring as much as possible on your last week of training, as I see you have a rest week before the bout. Your training should taper off but not halt on the last week.

The tabatas will leave you "legless," which is an awful feeling when sparring. Conditioning should be a supplement with your sport, not a substitute. There is no way you could squeeze all this in and live to tell about it. I doubt there are many world class athletes that are in shape enough to do this or would even benefit from it. I base all this on the assumption that you are going to be at the boxing gym at least 4 times per week.

i run 30-45 mins in the mornings 5-6 days a week and i try to do a few sprinting intervals every other day during this run and my cardio in the ring is fine just focus on the boxing work and dont overtrain at home

That's not bad. Depending on your condition that should be a sold workout. But try to have sprints twice a week max and as far away from eachother as possible.

I think he means you cant sprint constantly at a constant pace. your body will naturally slow as you get more tired. i do tabata burpees at the end of a circuit session. these are pretty good. just keep hammering them out best effort. then interval session and hill sprints as well to mix it up.

You may be overdoing it a litle bit though, unless your training for a fight.
