It has been thirteen years. BK's contract has run up. He is finally moving on.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Unfortunately, he may not moving into a position within the boxing media (at say, HBO to replace Papa or Showtime to replace Johnson). It's suggested in the article that he could wind up covering America's national pastime full-time instead. Baseball's all well and fine in my book, but I don't really follow it all that closely anymore and would much prefer BK stick with prizefighting in some capacity. I kind of suspected something in the way he signed off the FNF season finale this year. It had the feeling of...a last goodbye. ![]() Thanks for all the service with a million dollar smile. None of the putzes they have lined up as candidates to replace him are even remotely satisfactory. It may be time to scramble for the mute button whenever the TD cuts from ringside to the studio. |

HBO or Showtime need to make a play for Brian Kenny, he would take Showtime's class up a notch compared to that insufferable Gus Johnson.

Damn. You're right about that last sign off too. He was almost teary eyed. At the time, I thought damn, BK must really hate the Off Season...haha.
But seriously, that sucks. And helps to explain why they would continue to have had that parade of numb nuts in studio......they were tryin' dudes out. BK is one of the few who you can tell really does love boxing. |

The important thing is Teddy's analogies and Joe's incredulous eyebrow reaction. That's the magic for me. Although Brian's always had very cool hair.

I think the guy actually trains boxing or did at one time. I recall hearing he was going to start again as a stay/get in shape sort of thing. I always respected commentators who took part in physical training. Gus Johnson also trains grappling and some striking as well.
Brian Kenny is a decent enough boxing guy/insider. I am sure ESPN will replace him with someone far worse. |

Ditto B.E. Its still a drag Im used to Brian Kenny. Sugar Nikki would be a great replacement for Kenny, but IDK if espn can meet his standards.
