Graham Cooke gives us his thoughts on this weekend's UFC Live 6: Cruz vs. Johnson.
Obviously the title fight is the big one, but there's some other interesting battles on the main card too. To summarise, on the main card he goes: Cruz via decision / Struve via sub / Anthony Johnson via TKO / Wiman via decision. Id have to pretty much agree with what he's saying
I think Cruz has an edge on Johnson in almost every aspect of the sport , Johnson is dog tough so im not sure Cruz will submit or finish him , so i fancy a Cruz decision in an entertaining yet competetive fight I think Struve may submit Barry , Barry has shown weaknesses on the ground and Struve has a solid guillotine , he does not however like swarming pressure fighters , and Barry can certainly be that , if Struve survives round 1 , i fancy him Johnson KO & Danzig UD is how i see the other two going Terrible match up for Brenneman IMO , that said you never know what rumble your getting , but i do fancy a brutal stoppage in that one Overall i think Danzig has enough in the tank to repell Wiman , and has overall better skills , Wiman has a tendancy to be reckless therefore i wouldnt count out Danzig catching him and forcing a finish |

Struve is better than Barry in just about every regard, but Struve just can't take a shot. Because of Struve's chin this fight is 50/50, and I'm going with Barry.
I don't remember a lot about Wiman, but I picked him by decision. Johnson and Brenneman are probably in the same league in regards to their wrestling credentials. Johnson is a better athlete, and I think this will be the difference. I'm going with Johnson by 2nd round tko. I haven't seen Demetrius Johnson hit a lot, as I haven't seen many of his fights, so I don't know how good his chin is. If his chin holds up, I think he can take Cruz. I think Johnson can push a pace that will force Cruz to tire well before the end of the fight. I look for Johnson to take the fight over with enough time to win a decision or get a late stoppage. |

Oh well, I went 6-2 on the night.
My mistake not fully taking Struve's height into account. Barry needed to be able to land a punch in order to get the ko. Cruz has better stamina than I thought. I never thought it sucked, but I thought that it could be a factor if he were forced to fight outside his rhythm. |
