cotto doesn't need steward in his corner, as long as he's int raining camp and teaches everything that needs to be taught he will be fine.

Sergio mentioned he sets his feet now because he moved to middleweight.
Accumulation of punches but now he adds more power to them. I wish Bradley would learn how to punch. |

Damn, that sucks. Hope Cotto doesn't do something stupid again and say that Santiago is a good enough trainer to take over.

No NO NO NO !!!, Cotto needs an experienced corner man, in a fight of this magnitude especially when facing a fighter the beat the shit out of him. He's going to need a second pair of eye's , brain and a game plan..

Confimed on the scene that Pedro Luis Díaz will be his trainer. Apparently he is the man for the job because he is a doctor who holds a degree in sports training!
Fuckin A man...Cotto is an idiot. Im sorry but I really do feel he needs an experienced corner man to help him out in this fight. You would have thought he learened his lesson hiring the inept Joe Santiago for the (at that point in time) biggest fight of his life. Yet......here we are 2 years later for the next biggest fight of his life...if not...even bigger than the Pacquiao fight (because this seems personal for Cotto) and he does it again. Maybe I dont know much about this guy and he is a good trainer but I would have wished he went with someone who has name and a proven track record of helping fighters win big fights. Apparently he split with Steward because of a conflict in schedule (Wlad) and is open to working with him again. |

Apparently he has trained Felix Savon, Joel Casamayor, and Odlanier Solis.
If you REALLY want to look on the bright side of things....at least he picked a guy who has at least worked with some name guys in the past! A much finer choice than Santiago! Good job Miguel! Go right ahead and pat yourself (and your team) on the back! Cotto wrote it up as if he and Steward left on good terms. You would have at least thought Steward could have suggested someone for him to work with in his absence...especially if they plan to work together again in the future. Maybe he did and this is just Cotto being (stubborn) Cotto. |

Pedro Luis is one of the greatest amateur boxing coaches of all time. Not sure of his sucess rate training pros. Interesting move by Cotto.

After thinking a little this decision is not a big deal, after all it's not hard to study Margarito, everyone knows he always comes forward, doesn't have a good jab and is a pressure fighter with a good chin. Besides he fought him before.
