Shane Mosley benches over 300 pounds and I heard Haye benches over 400, but I'm not sure how accurate the Haye number is

Im sure most boxers have a strength program and as such lift weights.

Heard Rahman could get up near 500 on the bench

i dont know if bench press really means much in boxing, it does for football ball but punch power really isnt a result of big biceps

its your form and accuracy and really probably has more to do with your mid section and legs than anything

And what is the "correct way"? Well, it doesn't include power lifting, which is what Shane Mosley -- who is rumored to be able to bench-press anywhere from 300 to 500 pounds -- did to literally bulk up from lightweight to welterweight and then junior middleweight.

Hasim Rahman is a 230 ish muscular guy. I dont see what him being a boxer has to do with it.

Im sure the vast majority of heavyweights are on weights, and put up good numbers on the gym.

I have no doubt Haye is around 400 lbs. When I was fighting at 147 I was walking around at 154-157 lbs at age 17 and could bench about 280. During my football days I weighed 165 - 170 lbs and could get just over 300 lbs. Haye is a hell of alot bigger then me and a full grown adult so him doing 400 lbs at 220 I can believe.
