How about Duran in the second Leonard fight? He openly didnt train properly, wasnt eating right, and didnt really fancy it

There's no doubt in my mind that all of those fighters you mentioned knew they were going in against very tough opposition, but did any of them actually expect to lose? Maybe Bonecrusher.

Nobody's mentioned it yet, Roy Jones wasn't expecting to win the Glen Johnson fight, he felt faint, and weight drained and told his Aunt, 'not to be suprised' if he got knocked out

Duran looked in good shape and was fighting on almost even terms with Ray before he quit. I think Duran's troubles ahead of the fight are overstated, and he almost certainly felt he was going to beat Ray for a second time. In my opinion, at least.

I forgot about Jones Jr in the Tarver rematch.He celebrated going the distance and losing wide more than he did in half of his defences!
