Came across this incident by accident today while doing a bit of research and was amazed at it. Don't know if it's been replicated but can anyone name a fighter or fighters that received 2 title shots and in both cases lost their previous bout? Hint: it was not an immediate rematch so rule that out.

Y'know, Glen Johnson is an almost. He has fought for so many titles with so many sanctioning initials after them that I didn't think about him losing to Bute right after losing to Froch. He had something earlier but that was a WBU thing so let's not even go there. But I will consider everything up through WBO, how's that? I will say this, my subject fought for an undisputed title.

Well floyd patterson did after losing to ingo and liston.
Maybe joe walcott did also? By the use of the word undisputed I think maybe your subject is from the modern multi belt era and fought for a unified title? |

Hmmmmm I don't have boxrec infront of me but perhaps judah?
Lost to baldomir before fighting floyd. Then lost to floyd before fighting cotto. I think i'm ruling out any heavyweights. Hill lost to hearns before fighting for the vacant wba then lost to dm before fighting jones jr? |
