Rocky Marciano, the version in my avatar. Early Marciano was just a brawling animal who would take it to Mike and knock him out in a grueling slugfest.

I think Tyson is the second best HW of all time, a close second after Marciano.

Remember that Tyson did not come close 2 stopping Tucker & Smith , Tua & McCall were each harder punchers and more durable than each of these guys .
Corrie Sanders hurt every man he ever fought against prior , during and even fairly past his prime except from Nate Tubbs .
Tyson was no Nate Tubbs and lacked his size . Tubbs had a very good chin and absorbed a few shots from Tua until finally succumbing 2d preasure as expected .

come to think of it ..yes. Dempsey had that fight all his way too. I cant think of five active heavyweights in 1919 as good as willard the night he faced dempsey though - an even older willard came back after a 4 year lay off to KO floyd johnson, something a lot of good contenders never did.

His performance against Tyrell Biggs was equally impressive in that he was fighting a very skilled tall mover and he did a great job making Biggs miss those shots so he could get close to him and eventually take his legs away. That in my opinion is far more impressive than beating a guy who stood in front of him and didnt have the ammunition to make Tyson think twice before he came forward.
agreed. I liked his mitch green win as a good all round show also. Not a lot of competative fights to chose from. maybe thats down to sheer talent, he was a phenom after all, but also could be due to excelent matchmaking and a dearth of active title chalengers.
