Despite being a fan of Cung's aesthetics, I fear Belfort would have done to Cung what he did to Akiyama. I can't see Cung coping with the bigger Belfort's power-boxing.

You might be right. That's why I wanted to see it. If Cung could have dealt with Belfort - I don't see anyone other than Chael or Maia giving him trouble in the UFC. If he makes it past Wanderlei - a fight with a fresher younger stronger fighter like Toqhino might be in the cards.

Threads like this are funny. But I'm not gonna rub it in. As I was watching Le fight Silva, I started laughing at the fact that Le isn't good at anything but kicks (which don't always land).
Cung Le: old, fat, not dedicated, one dimensional, has crap stamina, has suspect chin, terrible defense, no ground game. Just calling it like it is. Kinda feel bad for the guy. He does have a very dynamic style, it's too bad he is so limited. I do hope he somehow improves his game and makes noise in the UFC if it's not too late for him. He's an old guy so it will be an uphill climb. |

Those knees Wandy was throwing was a beautiful thing though. Makes me miss the good ol' Pride days. |

It's all good. Threads like this deserve to stand as a testament to man's folly.
I don't mind. I was a Wanderlei Silva fan long before I ever even heard of Cung Le. |
