Big Bell should beat Botha handily. Grant has the size and the power to pound a stationary target like Botha, who is no longer the rugged guy of 15 years ago. Just my guess.

Grant is still a force in the top-20 or top-25 tier of heavyweights.

The fight was over about an hour before this post.

(It was in S. Africa, that's why it was so early)

Grant was reportedly getting his ass kicked for 11 and a half rounds before scoring a come-from-behind KO in the final minute.

So it was really a lucky KO for Grant. I guess I overrated his abilities. But I was right about his power: he can still bang.

Stay around for a couple more years and you'll start to get ESB references.

I had Botha up 1 pt, with an even 6th. Frans took 4 of the first six, but Grant, as always, stayed steady through the later rounds and wouldv'e probably given him a decision had Botha gotten up. Those judges were waaaaaayyyyy off, as the passive Grant countered Botha early, then took it to him late. But yeah, too little too late had it gona to the cards for those judges, but don't let the scores fool ya, Botha looked in better shape for Grant than he had previously been for his last half dozen or so fights, and was fairly aggressive early as well.

And Botha's ALWAYS had a sturdy beard.

That is a very different account of the action than the eleven round brutal domination that was being reported, chi.

I'll have to check out the full enchilada at some point. Not today. There's turkey to eat and drunk to get.

It was hardly a DOMINATION. As close as most of Grant's latest losses. He was headed for one had the KD/KO not happened, but when I saw the cardsThat wasn't near the actual amount of action. Yeah Botha was more agressive EARLY, but Grant was steady with the jab thru the entire fight, and EVEN took several bombs while trying to land on Botha's body.

Unless Fran's power is GONE, Grant seems to have grown a beard........IF THAT'S POSSIBLE.
