I had a friend over at the media work out today and he told me Abner looked alot skinnier with less muscle mass. Abner was not happy with the muscle and wanted to work speed. Based on the quote from the interview, he is banking that this will put him over. In all honesty I feel Agbeko is the better fighter and feel he will probably win this weekend. None if these guys though can compete with Nonito Donaire. |

Agbeko was smacking Mares around in the late rounds in spite of all the low blows that he'd absorbed up to that point. It was that last uppercut to the balls that totally took him out of the fight. If Mares had been forced to fight him clean, he would have gotten his ass handed to him that night.
On a side note, **** Russell Mora. |

I bet you Mares gets deducated at least 1 point for low blows, possibly a 2nd point. He is not going to change up his style. And if he tries too, he will lose handily. I see Agbeko controlling distance better this time around by using the jab more and boxing on the outside. Agbeko is a better boxer. If he's smart, he would do that.
Remember Agbeko lost handily to Perez but won decisively in the rematch. |
