Simple question for the thread:
Which fight would you rather see made: Mayweather-Martinez or Mayweather-Cotto? Cotto seems like a strong likelihood for May 5, 2012. Additional question: If Mayweather does not fight Martinez, does that mean he is "ducking" Sergio Martinez? Poll above and leave your thoughts below. ![]() ![]()

I'm a fan of Mayweather and seeing him get his ass kicked is not what I want to see.
At 147 Mayweather probably beats the weight drained Martinez though. |

sergio is a far greater risk than anyother fight out there for floyd an if the self proclaimed greatest wants to be mentioned in the same breath as armstrong, robinson, pep, etc this fight would be a step in the right direction

Cotto. it is a decent fight. Bigger fight. More winnable fight. In addition to a fight with history.

Martinez would be a career defining win I feel, particularly if it was at 160. A larger southpaw who is quick of hand and foot makes for an interesting clash of styles and if Mayweather was to win, it adds a lot to his career, I feel.
As to the ducking question, if he doesn't fight him, it's not a duck in my book. How do you duck a man who is 2 weight classes higher that you? It's a challenge I'd love to see him take, but no way does it constitute a duck. |

I really want to see Martinez beat the sh!t outta Mayweather, But If you think about it, Mayweather is a bad style for Martinez.

Sergio by a ways. It'd be legendary.
Hey guys, Imagine what ESB would be like if every fighter were expected and demanded to fight fighters two weight classes above. |
