In another article on the same site, it says that Team Floyd is NOT looking at Sergio for May 5, 2012. Not sure if this was another botched comment by Team Floyd (as was the Ellerbe/Floyd contradiction on fighting Sergio at a catchweight), who may have not realized Sergio is fighting Macklin on March 17, or if there were just second thoughts. Or something else.

Hopefully, with Arum clarifying matters, Team Floyd will consider moving off the May 5, 2012 date in order to make the superfight happen.

Unless, that is, they want to risk being seen as ducking Pacquiao (again?) by the public.

You don't know? Assuming you've taken basic math classes, then you know for them to bring in double the revenue with double the seats, then the average ticket price would have to remain the same. So I'll ask you this, how likely is it that they could price an additional 20,000 seats(all of which would be non premium seats) at the same average price as the 18,000 seats at the MGM Grand(which would all be closer and would include premium seats)? Unless you're incredibly stupid, the obvious answer is that they wouldn't be able to do so.

I read an article where they crunched the numbers and estimated Bob's stadium could generate $12M. This before the cost of the stadium is factored in. Bob claims it will cost $7M to build, which is probably a low estimate. So that means we're talking an extra $5M, at best, to split between the two camps. Considering all the money that is at stake, do you think it's reasonable to insist on this late May date for $2.5M? Keep in mind that Mayweather has to go to jail June 1. So if there is a delay in building this stadium, the fight can't be pushed back, and Mayweather could be without any opponent. This of course would cost him 10's of millions of dollars. So if Manny fights on May 5th, he might lose under $2M at the most(The opportunity cost would be much greater if he fights someone other than Mayweather). Mayweather could lose out on 10's of millions if he agrees the later date.
