Freaked? Maybe. Tyson was crazy. Who was to say he wouldn't just take a gun out and starting shooting? Everybody in boxing knew Mike was unstable. Not a guy you messed around with and acted cool around outside of the ring.

In the ring, different all together. Lewis knew that Tyson would be no match for him in a boxing match. Whipped his ass, carried him a few rounds, then flattened him out.

But when a dude is willing to just charge you and bite your leg like some kind of animal? Can you blame him?

I not sure I was used the word scare.

More like Shock. Tyson just bit him.

The real deal did lose a ear if you recall.

Mike rarely postured. When he was ready to do something crazy, somebody is about to get hurt.

I don't think Lennox was scared against Tyson but was always mindful and respectful of his power. Lewis should've finished this version of Tyson way earlier than he did. Mike had nothing much left, was a lot slower and Lewis just measured him from the outside and preferred to outpoint him rather than taking him out.

If Lewis and Tyson had fought during the Tyson exile years, I'd be hard pressed to favour Lennox.

He beat Tyson by making him quit. It's a satisfying victory because he did what he wanted to do in the fight without engaging him in a slugfest.

This was a "pugilistic specialist" doing the job and avoiding as little danger as possible.

Making him quit???

If turning Tinkerbell Tyson into a HUMAN-HEAVYBAG for 8 Rounds of BRUTAL BEATING And sparking him out cold as a corpse is making him quit, then yes Lenny Lewis made Tinkerbell quit.

Foreman HoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooK!

He did not spark him cold...........Tyson just said F it and after the ref waived it off got right up.

Liston on the contrary was sparked ICECOLD in his farewell fight similar to Roy Jones, lol, you could have launched the one of a kind German WW 1/2 Howitzer "Dicke Berta" next to those two and they would have kept napping.

Tinkerbell Tyson.

Something that few people actually know is that during the infamous press staredown, Tyson walked up to Lewis, but it was Lewis who threw the first punches.

But then he watched his previous fights and knew it was all talk. Lewis was a well conditioned and disciplined fighter. Tyson was a complete mess and it didnt take a genius to see that.

Lewis was probably a little worried about what could happen to him in the form of Tyson fouling or biting, but I dont think he felt Tyson had much of a chance to beat him other than landing a lucky punch, which he admitted could happen.

IMO Tyson was indeed scared. Lewis was calm, maybe abit afraid deep down, but i think LL knew Tyson wasnt nothing anymore.

I think its the HBO Documentary on the fight.

Lennox DID state that when he sparred the young Tyson, he admitted to being scared and not ever wanting to fight that animal.

His words were something to the effect 'i dont wanna fight this guy, hes an animal'

I actually like the interview between them at the end of the fight. They ahd lots of respect for each other.

A punch which he missed. Tommy Brooks admitted afterwards (hed just been sacked) that he knew Tyson hadnt been training very hard when he saw him miss the left hook.

I admit though, Lewis was trying to play all calm but deep down he was probably scared whereas Tyson was trying to play the pyscho but was probably bricking it himself as well.

I think both of them had apprehension for different reasons, Lewis was dealing with Tyson in full Psycho mode and I think Mike knew he no longer had it in him to beat Lewis, which for me explains Tyson's pre fight antics. I do think that prime Mike would scare the shit out of 99% of fighters though.
