Do you guys think i'm underrating jake's head movement and counter ability?

That's the difference imo. I see jake as reckless aggression like margarito as opposed to more technically sound aggression like apostoli.

Am I miles off here?

In what way is he a glaring omission?

This isn't a list of the best 12 mw's, it's merely a list of past mw's who have a decent amount of footage and spent a decent amount of time as the best mw in the world.

I wouldn't pick the Martinez so thoroughly troubled by Macklin to beat any of those guys. But I think he could be a troubling opponent for just about anyone during a busy MW run in his own right. A good opponent for just about anyone.

Very ugly fight, I thought his fight with macklin was very vain as well. Dancing around. NO hands acting like he could finish him at any time. Not many champs on the list have that much smoke up their ass.

The winky wright that lost to vasquez was nowhere near the finished article. I'd pick martinez to handily outpoint him.

The version of sweet pea that beat vasquez would really struggle against today's version of martinez also.

Yeah Winky developed a better defense and got stronger. But it's not like Martinez's defense or his strength is near the level Wright developed to anyway, so I don't see that as being relevant.

I agree that Whitaker would struggle against Martinez though. Whitaker was clever enough to befuddle Vasquez but against a more atheltically gifted fighter the extra pounds would really show on him.

I never said it didn't include tiger. There are a lot of guys I could have included but I just picked 12 of them.

I'm caught on this one. Martinez fights similar to a southpaw roy jones.

I think martinez would rack up an early lead but hopkins would eventually begin to time him.
