not disputing their competition but if you have eyes, than you can see jones' quality. critiquing his resume is one thing, critiquing his talent is another

I gotta agree. His "gangly" style is exactly wrong for the power and speed of Jones. Something tells me this won't go too long.

It's an interesting fight this for Jones. Marshall can punch and is in the habit of launching unexpected attacks. But those are his chances. I'm interested in anyone who would actually pick him if a prime Marshall were being lined up against a prime Jones for the super-middleweight championship of the world.

Thoughts?

Marshall was a hell of a fighter but Jones was even better at 168 Lbs. Jones was very fast, accurate, hard to hit once, almost impossible to hit clean with two punches in a row, and he had good power in both hands. He was in excellent shape and usually looked like he could go another 12 rounds even in a decision win.

I'll take Jones by late round stoppage.

Lloyd Marshall was probably past his prime when he stopped Ezzard Charles and even moreso when Charles stopped him .
He also beat Archie Wright and Charley Burley although Wright stopped him in their rematch .
I do agree that on these 3 wins alone he surpasses everything Roy Jones did and I believe that if he beat those 3 d way he did , Roid Jones wouldn't have been 2 much of a problem 4 him .
