Default Favortite TV Fighters

1980 thru 1984

Frank 'The Animal' Fletcher

Fought a bunch of exciting fights on ESPN and NBC, and a couple on Closed Circuit.

* Bill 'Caveman' Lee
* 'Slammin' Sammy Nesmith
* Randy 'Handy Mac' McGrady
* 'Sugar' Ray Phillips
* Jerome 'Silky' Jackson
* Ernie Singletary
* Norberto 'Berto' Sabater
* Tony Braxton
* Clinton Jackson
* James 'Hard Rock' Green
* Wilford Scypion
* Juan Domingo Roldan
* John 'The Beast' Mugabi
* Curtis Parker

'The Animal' was never in a dull fight.

Achieved a #1 Middleweight Ranking in 1982, as was in line for a shot at the
World Middleweight Championship.

Instead of waiting for his deserved shot at the title, took on #5 Wilford Scypion
in February 1983, and was upset in a 12-Round Elimination bout.

3-months later it was Wilford Scypion who was fighting Marvin Hagler for
the World Middleweight Championship.

Dangerous Don Lee was usually interesting to watch, won a real thrilling up and downer with Tony Sibson, Big Puncher but could be susceptible. But probably no featured enough.

Of course Corny Boza Edwards was a Fan Fav of those days.

James 'Great' Scott

The Rahway Prison Light-Heavyweight.

Was considered the out-right best Light-Heavyweight in the World in 1979.

NBC-TV had the rights to televise his bouts, all within the confines of a
New Jersey 'maximum security facility'.

Televised fights;

* Freddie Brown
* Eddie Gregory
* Richie Kates
* Bunny Johnson
* Ennio Cometti
* Jerry Celestine
* Yaqui Lopez
* Jerry Martin
* Dwight Braxton

He bullied his opponents with a swarming non-stop style.
Physically gifted at 6' 1" and with a muscular-body, he had good punching power
and a relentless body attack.

Got to 18-0-1 (10 KO's), and pressed for a World Title shot. But none of
the boxing orginizations would sanction a World Championship bout in a
prison, let alone a maximum security facility.

Was considered 'invincible', until Jerry 'The Bull' Martin beat the
living hell out of him in 1980. 'The Bull' dropped him twice, and lumped the
unbeaten in prison house resident up pretty good.
