What is he then? Because if he's a natural Super Featherweight then Pacquiao is still a Flyweight.

Didn't you know? Floyd has never had to cut weight, he's the one fighter who has never exploited the 24 hour weigh-in period, just because he now fights at his natural weight!

The whole point of fighting Martinez is that Floyd will not hold all the advantages for once. Floyd is not a blown up super feather - he's a natural welter who can easily navigate the step up.

For the record, I think the Cotto fight is a good one, but really it's not a fight where Floydhas any disadvantages. He wants to look good against a near-prime fighter and Cotto is perfect for that.
This. But of course, Floyd fought Ortiz, who weighed 161 on the night

Charles was a Middleweight that beat Burley, Moore, Elmer Ray, Bob Satafield, Jimmy Bivins, an old Joe Louis and Joey Maxim. He couldn't get title shots at Middle or Light Heavyweight so he moved up and became Heavyweight Champion. Floyd is 35, he's going to jail soon and he avoided all the guys he could of proved his greatness against after his scare against Castillo when he was younger, he isn't going to match what Charles did by beating Pacquiao or Martinez, he probably won't even fight them.

If Floyd taking on Sergio Martinez is unreasonable, then its unreasonable to even mention him along side Sam Langford who has wins over ATG Lightweight champion Joe Gans at Lightweight when he was still a teenager and later on scored KO victories over Hall Of Fame Heavyweights Sam McVea, Joe Jannette and Harry Wills. Micky Walker was Welterweight Champion and drew with Heavyweight Champion Jack Sharkey, think Sharkey was **** well watch this and shut the **** up about Mayweather being as great as Micky Walker.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26KOs) is looking to fight five more times before retiring from the sport. Mayweather, 35-years-old, returns on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He faces WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30KOs). Mayweather wants to have at least two fights per year, which puts him on the path to retirement at age 37. On June 1, Mayweather will report to the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas to spend 87 days in jail for a domestic abuse charge. He wants to take another fight in the fall.

"Safe to say, probably -- this one [with Cotto], plus five more. And of course, I'm probably not looking to fight six strong champions," Mayweather told David Mayo of the Grand Rapids Press. "I'm a lot older now, you know what I'm saying?"

Which is why everyone says the same thing: no one is saying it's Floyd fault. HE HAS DONE NOTHING WRONG.

There are just many other fighters who did A LOT MORE RIGHT.

So are you saying Floyd should be higher ranked because we feel sorry for him because his era wasn't great? Anyway, there were better challenges out there that he did take on.

He isn't as brilliantly talented as other think IMO, got nuttin' on Sumbu Kalambay for one (except for pure handspeed)

Biased about Jack Sharkey I admit it . Still don't think he is a top 10 Heavyweight even I just think he is absurdly fun to watch and under appreciated.

I can see why people go over board with Floyd, its the same **** but its not like Floyd is the only guy to do it. I was a big Mayweather fan at one point but he just stopped taking the best on after the Castillo scare, that plus being an total **** put me off. I think he took to much flak for fighting Baldomir and Hatton though, they are good wins. Its the people he didn't fight at the right time that is so bad for his case. How can somebody get so many people to believe he is the best ever when he went on "vacation" and said "I'll retire from boxing, I won't let boxing retire me" when asked about defending his title like a champion against a prime Cotto? If he was so much better than Cotto then why not prove it and make millions. Bold claims require bold actions.

If you don't need to cut weight, and you're not significantly smaller than your opponents, then you're a natural at that weight.

No i just find it highly amusing everyone now retorts to this "he hasn't fought anybody, waste of talent" stuff now when three years ago it was the same people claiming "he's ducking Mosley"...There is always something to put Mayweather down.

Not a natural welter by today's (super middle/light heavy) standards
