The two Swedes and the Dane are the only Scandinavians that have qualified.

So it was Omarov-Yoka in the final and Yoka stepped into the ring then "retired" before the fight started? That's cowardly.

Seems like it came as no suprise.

Not to hijack but in the Olympics they are doing a seeding system this time, correct?

SHW will be ranked 1-16 and Mezhidov will probably get the top ranking/seeding. Do not be suprised if Omarov gets an 8 and they meet in the quarterfinals. The number 2 guy, probably the Brit will get an easy route right to the semi's.

Screwjob coming for one or both of the Magomeds in London.

Look at these AIBA rankings as of April

60 KG (Lomachenko 3?)

1 Toledo
2 Valentino
3 Lomachenko

64 kg (No Berinchyk who won Silver, Gold Medalist Dos Santos #2, Stalker who was battered by Berinchyk #1?)

1 Stalker
2 Dos Santos
3 Uranchimeg

81kg

1 La Cruz
2 Hooper (won nothing)
3 Ward (Talented but won nothing and didnt qualify at Euros)

91

1 Mammadov
2 Wang
3 Usyk

91+

1 Medzhidov
2 Hrgovic (lost in quaters at worlds, didnt qualify at Euros)
3 Cammarelle (lost in semi's at worlds)

Ranking system is retarded to say the least

He retired after one finished round. Omarov was 4-2 up. The fight was just getting started.

The home nation qualified 6 boxers for the olympics. That is just disappointing. Bullshit.

Why is it disappointing? every single one of those 6 lads deserve to be there, they have done very well to get there and Callum Smith should also be there.

Fair enough, I should have realised, teamGB have 7 qualifiers not 6 so I should have worked it out. The Turks will all be beat early in the tournament.

Agreed but do remember that the UK can enter up to three boxers in each qualifier weight division, imagine if Russia or the Ukraine could do that?

So it was in the Irish papers today that Dr.Wu had a look at the tape of Ward - Mufazzar and he said it was a very bad desicion and it said he said he will see what he can do regards giving Ward the Wildcard place at 81kgs .

Thanks for the heads up. Good to hear. No one else deserves the wildcard place.
