Default Chavez vs Lee in jeopardy

Quote:
The University of Texas Board of Regents has canceled the fight between Julio César Chávez Jr. and Andy Lee scheduled for June 16 in the Sun Bowl.

They called UTEP this morning and said it was too much of a security risk because of the violence on the border.
Lester Bedford, the event coordinator, and Bob Arum, CEO of Top Rank promotions, have said they will still fight to have the fight here in El Paso.
Sucks for Lee if true. But they'll probably just move it to LA or El Paso

If it get's the fight out of Texas then good. Lee needs a fair referee and judges.

He won't be getting a fair shake anywhere anyway.

Still anywhere is better than Texas and not just for the corruption.

Andy Lee seems jinxed. Anytime he gets a sniff at a defining fight it dissapears. You'd think with Manny as a trainer he'd be luckier.

Was waiting for someting like this to happen. Was a surprise when this fight was announced. Lee is the kind of awkward technician who will give Chavez problems, and after Arum's renowned avoidance skills have kept Martinez at bay it was a surprise to see Lee being matched with him. But as Bob says in the article the fight will definitely go ahead at a different venue anyway so no need to worry.......................
