Following Box News impressive effort of compiling a Top 100 boxers of all time. I though it might be worthwhile trying to do a Current top 100.
I have split the list into 5 pools to try and make things easy. The first task is to decide if any fighters needs to move up or down in the pools. the 2nd is to cut anyone out and settle on a top 100. Then we can start running through each section to finalise it. NO! Tony Bellew cannot be on your top 100. Pot 1 = 1-2 Floyd Mayweather Jnr Manny Pacquiao Pot 2 = 3-8 Wladimir Klitschko Andre Ward Sergio Martinez Tim Bradley Juan Manuel Marquez Nonito Donaire Pot 3 = 9-31 Vitali Klitschko Yoan Pablo Hernandez Bernard Hopkins Jean Pascal Chad Dawson Mikkel Kessler Carl Froch Lucian Bute Miguel Cotto Saul Alvarez Victor Ortiz Andre Berto Lamont Peterson Amir Khan Robert Guerrero Yuriorkis Gamboa Toshiaki Nishioka Guillermo Rigondeaux Abner Mares Anselmo Moreno Sonny Boy Jaro Usiles Solis Roman Gonzalez Pot 4 = 32-78 Tomasz Adameck Steve Cunningham Jean Pascal Chad Dawson Robert Stieglitz Andre Dirrell Glen Johnson Daniel Geale Erislandy Lara Paul Williams Austin Trout Devon Alexander Zab Judah Marcos Maidana Lucas Mathysse Humberto Soto Danny Garcia Brandon Rios Miguel Vasquez Richard Abrill Ricky Burns Antonio DeMarco Takashi Uchiyama Adrian Broner Orlando Salido Chris John Celestino Caballero Jhonny Gonzalez Jorge Arce Joseph Agbeko Shinsuke Yamanaka Omar Navarez Tepparith Kokietgym Yata Sato Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr Brian Vilora Hernan Marquez Pongsaklek Wonjongkam Moruti Mthalane Giovanni Segura Donnie Nietes Johnriel Casimero Kompayak Porpramook Nkosinathi Joyi Kazuto Ioda Moises Fuentes Akira Yaegashi Pot 5 = 79-123 Alexander Povetkin Marco Huck Dennis Lebedev Antonio Tarver Ola Alafoabi Zsolt Erdei Gabriel Campillo Tavoris Cloud Beibut Shumenov Nathan Cleverly Arthur Abraham Felix Sturm Matthew Macklin Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr Dimitry Pirog Delvin Rodrigurez Cornelius Bundrage Nobuhiro Ishida Carlos Molina James Kirkland Zaurbek Baysangurov Shane Mosley Vyacheslav Senchenko Mike Alvarado Erik Morales Urbano Antillon Sergio Thompson Takahiro Ao Juan Carlos Salgado Juan Manuel Lopez Miguel Angel Garcia Daniel Ponce De Leon Koko Komeda Tomás Rojas Cesar Seda Raul Martinez Rodrigo Guerrero Edgar Sosa Luis Concepcion Johnriel Casimero Kompayak Porpramook Omar Nino Ramero Raul Garcia Juan Palacios Ivan Calderon |

I always find these things almost impossible to work out a criteria for. Should you be looking into this from a fighters most recent fights or their career over all. For example Mayweather is at the top even though he has had one fight in over a year against Victor Ortiz but when you put in his career work you can see why he is top. In pot three you have Sonny Jaro who from what I can remember has lost every time he has stepped up apart from his recent win over Pong and he is higher than people with careers much better than him like Soto who hasn't been in a really relevant fight since he beat Antillion.
Good work for anyone who gives a list of the top 100 but I think the criteria should be a bit clearer on what we are looking for. |

A quick attempt at a top 20:
1. Floyd Mayweather 2. Manny Pacquiao 3. Juan Manuel Marquez 4. Nonito Donaire 5. Andre Ward 6. Sergio Martinez 7. Wladimir Klitschko 8. Tim Bradley 9. Yuriorkis Gamboa 10. Anselmo Moreno 11. Abner Mares 12. Vitali Klitschko 13. Miguel Cotto 14. Lucian Bute 15. Bernard Hopkins 16. Toshiaki Nishioka 17. Orlando Salido 18. Roman Gonzalez 19. Brian Viloria 20. Jean Pascal It's very hard to do just a top 20, so I can only imagine the difficulty in doing 100. Plus, people have different criteria's and that'd only make things more complicated. |

![]() As you say it can be very hard to compile a list like that, especially of 100 |
