In an age where everyone is looking for a new heavyweight star. German prospect Edmund Gerber steps up opposition against Maurice Harris

Maurice "Sugar moe" Harris - 25(11)-15(11)-2

- Harris turned pro in 1992 as a sixteen year old as a light heavyweight. After becoming a win some lose some fighter Harris took a three year break from boxing in 2003 after a stoppage loss to Fres Oquendo even though in the fight before Oquendo, Harris stopped future heavyweight world champion Siarhei Liakhovich in nine rounds. Harris returned in 2006 accumulating wins against journey man opposition and also lossing to Tye Fields. Before impressing against good opposition in his last three fights
- Harris is the current United States Boxing Association champion
- His best victories came against Nagy Aguilera and Derric Rossy either side of his most disappointing defeat a three round stoppage loss in a IBF eliminator to top ten ranked heavyweight Tony Thompson
- Betting outsider at 11/2

So this is Gerber first real opposition where he might not have it all his own way. Harris at times is a vunerable heavyweight but has two impressive wins of late and has mixed in a higher class

Prediction - Could be a tough night for Gerber if Harris fancies it but i will go for Gerber by ko/tko

What does everyone else think of in my opinion a impressive undercard fight

I think Gerber should take this with a late KO too. Hard to tell though when he has yet to face true adversity in the ring which Harris usually brings. I think he's a very solid prospect, his destruction of Zach Page was very impressive. Nobody puts Page down three times and totally dominates him like Gerber did.
