On a 65/35 purse split of $50 million, does that mean Cotto stands to make about $17-$18 million from the purse alone? Has Pacquiao ever seen anywhere close to that kind of purse money? 65% of $50,000,000 is approximately equal to what has been reported to be Mayweather's guaranteed purse for tonight's event.

No. The most manny has made is 15-20 mill (Everything included). Ffs his largest purse was 7.7 million.

Manny´s official purse for Marquez was 6 mil. He was guaranteed 22 (this should have been his official purse, Arum can take 10 years to pay him the 22 if he wants to) and was rumored to make around 30 mil.
No one knows the real PPV numbers so we cant really say but if it did 1.4 million buys then 30 mil is a rip off. From that 30 mil he will lose a hefty % to Arum, then comes rest of "Team Pacquiao".

There is no way cotto is on a 35:65 split. Not on the whole ppv sales anyway, maybe after the first million ppls the split is 35:65.

Manny got a minimum of 22mil vs JMM in their third fight and even against Hatton his purse was 12 Million.

His actual purses have all been below 10 mil meaning if his PPV don't sell, he wont get that 20+ purse but he will get the 7 mil.

ah ok. If I'm not mistaken, the purse split and PPV sales/merchandise deals are done separately. If Cotto got $8 million then that means they split the $40 million purse 75/25
