He also has a job as a cop, it's not like he needs to turn pro with the money he gets from the Italian government and having a job he enjoys, from what I remember hearing.

He is too afraid of turning pro. Very disapointing but not surprising.

Did he tell you that in a private conversation or something?

Yes, I'm sure that boxing professionally is more frightening to someone who has done it all his life than strapping on a badge and going out as a cop.

Roberto Cammarelle, who foiled Pulev more than once...hmmm...Pulev vs Dimetrenko tomorrow, if Pulev wins it makes you wonder how Roberto Cammarelle would have done.

Cammarelle is an amazing talent, but he might have stamina and chin problems on the next level.
He has a good chin. I think he was down against Timurziev at 2006 Euros, ,a little stunned vs Romanchuk at 05 Worlds but thats the only times i can remember him really being effected. Roman and Timurziev were both very good punchers.

Ya he seems happy being a cop in Italy and i read an interview a while ago where he said he didn't like knocking guys out. He thinks that beating them over a full fight proves more mastery over an opponent, not a pro attitude. Damiani must be pissed, if only he had Roberto's power.

He can't beat Russians. Romanchuk, Timurziev, Kuzmin, Omarov, Povetkin (what 4 times?) all beat him. He would be cursed in the pro ranks.

Who knows...Pros are different. Let's just see how Dimitrenko v Pulev unfolds in few hours.

Cammarelle reminds me a bit of Sanders. He's got the same straight backed, fast handed power punching style as the South African. I think he'd do fine in the pros, though his mid to late round stamina might be a question mark.

I remember reading in boxing news or something and they did a segment on him, he said he did not follow or enjoy the pro game as he feels pro boxing substitutes skill with brutality. Also he said his back problems are the cause of his drop in form (age probably a factor too), as he can barely run anymore.
