I wasnt a fan of the presentation at the time, but Cage rage did have some really good fights.

I think Cage Rage finished, when Sky TV pulled out of showing the events due to poor ratings and they couldnt find another channel

A shame Sergei never got to fight Fedor or Cro Cop around this time, would've made for some epic fights.

Cheers Shogun, agree with you about Sergei, but the fights against Semmy and Reem were pretty damned good

And Sakurai was a bit hot and cold and loss a few close decisions in his prime, but it always annoys me that he isnt mentioned when talking about Hughes & Andersons best wins. On his day was a tough fight for anyone

Love Kharitonov's fights with Semmy and Rizzo, brutal ass whoopings.

Sakurai was a very tough dude. Went into the two biggest fights of his career heavily injured, having suffered a car accident not too long before the Hughes match, and was pretty much limping his way to the ring against Gomi with a bad knee injury. Ofcourse it's not a wise idea going into big fights when your not 100%, but it does show a huge amount of balls on his part.

Balls indeed. I dont think the results would have differed to much from what happened if he wasnt injured. But would have made a much better account of himself I think, and maybe time would have been a bit kinder towards his legacy
