Even random birds who have zero interest in boxing have been talking about the haye v chisora fight all over the news feed on my facebook. Marketed correctly, this could be enormous!

Loads. They dont need sky sports to hype anything as the fight sells itself, every man and his dog were talking about it in february.

This bill has the potential (barring drop-outs) to be better than any of the magnificent 7's IMO.

I work in TV and hear one or two things every now and then but haven't heard anything about last weekends figures yet. I know that certain platforms will have been wondering what was going on when GBP went with BN.

Getting back to the OP's point, I think this could be the making of BN and should take 200k-300k buys.

This fight will do wonders for Boxnation's subscriber numbers and it may push them towards there 100k target but 1 million? No chance!! It would be lucky to get that on Sky Sports. The only channels that can do that level of viewing figures for boxing would be the terrestrials.
It will be great tv though ...

How many people watch Fury fight on Channel 5? 5 million? If that's the case I can imagine 15 million signing up to watch this.

But mayweather Hatton did over a million, and the haye/chisora fight is more talked about by the general public than that fight and is on at a decent time of day

Just dont understand how people can say this will 'only' get 200 - 300 thousand buys...trust me it will get near the million mark

They will get alot of casuals for a month but they wont hang about long when they reaslise most of the fights are boxers they havent heard of or care about, but im sure they will get a good few hangers on!

Getting back to the OP's point, I think this could be the making of BN and should take 200k-300k buys.

Baffles me why GBP thought Boxnation would be a good outlet for them. They may have offered more money than Sky but it has such a limited subscription base and GBP could easily take the hit.

This fight should get the channel at least 500k new subs but just like what happened with Setanta everyone will cancel afterwards.

According to the BARB (Broadcasters Audience Research Board) website the Fuy / Rogan fight got about 1.3 million viewers, which is pretty impressive considering it was at about ten o'clock on a Saturday night.

it needs a few panto dust ups at press conferences etc to grab the headlines, they need to build chisora up as this bad ass tyson like figure to get joe public on board. Then they need to book another fight in august to keep the subscriptions up. Im talking a Bellew vs clev type rematch
