And he's 27-0 and rated #2 in Poland right behind Adamek, so that must make him a tomato can too.

its good to see Szpilka finally got some decent sparing partners.he was always complaining that he had problems with decent spraring partners.
hopefully this and his sparing sessions with Wlad will give him lots good experience.
he also spar with Sprott

Szpilka's opponent for 2 June is Gonzalo Omar Basile, I've checked him out on Boxrec, and the only 2 notable names he's fought he's been KO'd, by Dimitrienko and Marcelo Nasciemento (both in round 1)

anyone care to share anything about him?

He reminds you of Rocky Marciano.I don't think so.I just can't believe how people talking about young heavyweight who wasn't had any serious fight and went down vs 40 years old David Saulsberry.

Easy there, big fella. I said, "He reminds me a little of Rocky Marciano, the way he comes in so low." That's all I said.

As I vaguely recall, Saulsbury, who was much heavier, pushed him down and the referee incorrectly called it a knockdown.

correct and well, any heavyweight who shows promise is bound to be a little overhyped these days, wouldnt you think? not everyone has to jump on the bandwagon, but for those clamouring for someone with 'personality', i find it hard to look past szpilka.

(before i get chewed out, im not saying the klitschko's have no personality, im just stating that some people see it that way... not me.)

It's hard not to love Szpilka.

He is incredibly entertaining, perhaps too much so for his own good. He tries to go for the KO, throws brutal punches and has shown some real moments of genius so far. His style is fantastic.

However, his comments on Basile worry me a little. He seems to underestimate the guy, been chasing McCline and not getting that fight.

Basile is a tough guy though, ranked #64 on boxrec, 60 professional fights and won his last two fights via KO. Not bad, quite probably the best opponent he has faced so far (Beck is done)

I think to a lot of the lowlife dimwit jerkoffs on the boxing forums personality = rap sheet. What did Szpilka do anyway?

Szpilka on his FB page said he's pissed off that he's facing someone of Basile's class, he wanted someone better so the fight can go on more than a round

I want Szpila to finally face someone who would last at least a few rounds, Szpilka's never been past 3 rounds as a pro

No way is Basile the #64 heavyweight in the world. Boxrec massively over-rates the South American HWs.

I agree that Szpilka's comments are disappointing. He hasn't looked amazing in his fights to date and Basile is better than anyone he's faced so far. McCline is a name but he was beaten by Harold Sconiers a few months ago and isn't really any better than Basile. Plus, Basile is a ****ing G. I thought Malik Scott's tats were sick. Jesus, check out Basile's:

Football holiganism. He was actually discovered by a Boxing trainer during a hooligan-fight.
