It's an exciting prospect Ben Edwards deciding to concentrate on winning the Australian boxing title against Shane Tilyard. His power is explosive as demonstrated by this vid when he won a K1 tournament in Canberra in world record time.
Ben beat his 3 opponents in a total of only 3 minutes and 28 seconds >>> [ame]***********.youtube.com/watch?v=ohRyvIpaeqw&feature=player_embedded[/ame] For those not familiar with K1, it's basically kickboxing where you can use your knees as well. |

This was the source for my post that originated the thread >>>
"The title became vacant two weeks ago when the now former Australian heavyweight champion, Lucas Browne, signed an exclusive contract with England's Ricky Hatton". I looked into this a few weeks ago, the reason I was told they stripped Browne is that he's now residing in the UK, which is blatantly false.
Seems the ANBF will bend over backwards to accomodate some promoters. Must be one of the quickest stripping's in history, less than two months after he won the title. Why would it matter if Browne has signed with Hatton? Certain members of the ANBF who post here are quick to bag other heavyweights yet have been strangely silent on this matter, which in my opinion is disgraceful. |

I mean it's not as if it's happened before, after capturing the heavyweight strap from Mirovic Hopoate went over to the States to fight McCall and lost before defending against Mirovic and then losing it to Wilson.
But I guess that's something different altogether... |

Born in Australia, unless he has dual passports he wouldn't be able to move permanently to the UK anyway, and his first and only fight in UK was only about 3 bloody weeks ago. Surely there's room to challenge this finding?

Ben Edwards vs Shane Tilyard for the Australian heavyweight title obviously never took place. But as I type this, 'Banging Benny' is competing in the K1 Rising 2012 World GP Final 16 in Tokyo, and I'm watching it right now.

I remember the time over 40 years ago when the Australian Middleweight champion fought for the Heavyweight title....He won by KO
There is a Light heavyweight in Victoria that could beat both these heavyweights on the one night.
