My work laptop is two and a half years old and nothing special (not bought with gaming in mind, but all work and no play makes ST a dull boy) yet it can run it fine so unless yours is seriously archaic you should be fine. And yes, great game.

You might find that Civ runs fine when it's just you and a couple of arable farmers, then by the time you are seeking to lead a vast horde to a crushing victory over all who dare stand against you on multiple fronts your computer starts to cry no mas.

I tend to enjoy a few hours tending a vast, sprawling empire, rich in cultural diversity and with a beautifully balanced economy, then some tinpot nation turns up whose leader can't string a sentence together but has spent all his time on military kit and walks through my laughable attempts at defence. I'm just addicted to exploring new bits of the map.

To my shame I had not realized that such a thing were possible , I have only ever done single player as I chop my turns in among moments of work activity.

Once Jono has got his eye in, and I have found the disc, that sounds a good idea.

Jono can supply the rookie errors, I will supply the sprawling yet woefully-underdefended empire, and (by the sounds of those two efforts) you can provide the all-conquering army..!
