Hopefully lora, scartissue, sweet_scientist, AlFrancis will chip in at some point as well

Good post, thanks (Stable was also a class operator)

I've certainly got more time for Ortega's fights than Gatti's I'll get round to the Scott footage at the weekend.
Have you seen Stable-Scott?

Thats a war.

My Boxeo Guide, is more complete.

Elionico Mercedes, at age 21, turns professional in January 1978.

Elionico Mercedes opened his career with 6 straight wins 6-0-0 (1 KO),
before losing a 10-Round Decision to Joey Olivo 15-0-0 on August 10, 1978 in California.

Elionico was over-matched in his next '5' bouts, going 1-4-0, dropping him
to 6-5-0 (1 KO) by January 24, 1980.

Despite his 'good amateur' career and 'potential' - he looked like no way would he ever be a Flyweight Contender, let alone a Champion.

Then properly matched, and with a little luck, in his next '14' bouts from January 25, 1980 thru November 6, 1982
he goes 11-1-2 (4 KO's).

Included in those wins, a 'big upset' Knock-out (KO 9) over former World Champion Guty Espadas in February 1981 shoots him into the Top 10.

Also included, a run of '5' impressive wins over Top 10 Flyweights;
Jose Herrera - Jorge Herrera - Juan Guzman - Antonio Escobar - Juan Diaz

His only 'blemish', a June 1981 Disqualification-Loss (L Disq. 2) to 'highly regarded' Candido Tellez.

Those wins move him to 17-6-2 (5 KO's) and moves him to the #3 WBC Flyweight, and in-line for World Title shot.

On November 6, 1982 - 25 year-old 'Nico' Mercedes upsets WBC Flyweight Champion *Freddie Castillo by 15-Round Decision
at The Olympic in Los Angeles.

In March 1983, in his 'first defense of the title' he travels to Wembley Stadium in London, and gets blown-out by Charlie Magri (L KO 7), and loses the WBC Championship.

'Two' decision wins in 1983 (after the Charlie Magri Knock-out loss) up his record back to 20-7-2 (5 KO's).

Included, was an impressive December 1983 10-Round Decision over the 'talented' Alonzo Gonzalez.

When he fought German 'GT' Torres in March 1984, his record was 20-7-2 (5 KO's), and he was the #4 Flyweight.

If I were you I'd withdraw this fight from your channel as quick as possible - it's too damn violent!
