Default UFC 146 salaries: Headliners Dos Santos and Mir to make flat $200K paydays

Regardless of which fighter wins Saturday's UFC 146 title fight, heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos and fellow headliner Frank Mir each will earn a flat disclosed payday of $200,000.

Neither is eligible for a win bonus.

MMAjunkie.com ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) today confirmed the payouts with Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer.

UFC 146 takes place at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena. The main card, which boasts five heavyweight fights (including the Dos Santos vs. Mir championship five-rounder), airs on pay-per-view. FX and Facebook carry the prelims.

In addition to the headliners, co-headliner and former champion Cain Velasquez earns a disclosed payday of $100,000 to show and an additional $100,000 as a win bonus if victorious. His opponent, former Strikeforce fighter and UFC newcomer Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva, earns a flat $70,000.

What do you guys make of this? Big Foot for a start was earning more money in SF?? $70K for a co-headline while Cain makes a base $100k? Even Santos Mir are only taking $200k flat each. Seems like the salary's are getting less and less in the UFC.

Well as we all know there are more add ons than just a win bonus , but i have to agree , the numbers aren't great for dos Santos , Mir hmmm , i think he's being over paid if I'm honest , Dana has the said the UFC wage structure is based on the NFL's structure of having the talent and ability paid the most money , why is the champion being paid the same as the challenger ??? , specially when comparing where these guys are in there careers

The salaries for this event are going to have to be balanced somewhere , its stacked with the majority of the top HW's in the organisation , based on what we've heard about the different bonuses and various methods the UFC has of paying there top fighters , plus the kind of figures being branded around for sponsorships , the top 4 guys on this card should be netting a good solid payday

Big Foot's last flat base payday in SF was 100K , the UFC will have to make up the numbers one way or the other , one would think

Yeah he'll earn more than that. Agree its weird to have a replacement challenger being paid the same as the champ.

A combined $400000 is poor. Brock made more than that per fight on his own

And fat ass James Toney made more than both of them combined. The UFC is more than happy to build a brand off the back of their new heavies but for whatever reason Mir has parity!?!?!? And JDS and Cain appear to be getting chump change. Even Bigfoots salary is suspect considering he made more in SF and EliteXC.
Oh well still a great card. Almost PRIDE like with all heavy card

Disclosed salary. I guess you also believe that dos Santos said he could beat the Klit Bros. in boxing, too, right?

The challenger is a former champion who has been a go-to guy for the company for years. He's been a reliable employee. Plus he holds the UFC record for most wins in the heavyweight division. Mir is a name and he's a valued guy. He'll be getting a cut of the PPV as well I would assume.

And it's amusing to see people bitching about the pay, when all of us know damned well that we don't have a clue what the final pay is for the headline guys.

Surely they got a cut of the PPV. $200k isn't so bad when they aren't that big names. It's not so bad compared to the UFC payscale.

You missed a bit of the article

Full disclosed UFC 146 paydays will be available next week.

As usual, the figures do not include deductions for items such as insurance, licenses and taxes. Additionally, the figures do not include money paid by sponsors, which can oftentimes be a substantial portion of a fighter's income. They also do not include any other "locker room" or special discretionary bonuses the UFC oftentimes pays. They also do not include portions of the pay-per-view revenue that some top-level fighters receive.

In other words, they're simply base salaries reported to the commission and do not reflect entire compensation packages for the event.

JDS is being screwed if those figures are accurate.

Maybe you should train for 3 months and fight the Klitschkos

Why do we continue to talk about these figures as if they mean anything?

This topic has been done over and over.

Champ Anderson Silva: $200,000 (includes no win bonus)
def. Vitor Belfort: $275,000

Do you think Anderson Silva really made 200k to beat up Vitor Belfort too? Dork.
