Lots of luck, Pepe'

You found the only picture/article available on him from the magazine on Flickr. I did catch a Google News article that said he was paid $22,000 and a gift from the President for the Obed fight. Obed was quoted as calling him "a strong challenger" and saying the fight was "a wake-up call from God" that he did not eventually heed to train harder and lay off the women.

You might have better luck researching Obed's other "high profile" challenger, Tony "KO King" Gardner, lol.

Thanks for the Information,,,,,,,

'The Virgin Island Daily News'

Sea Robinson was 30 years of age (Born in 1946), when he fought Elisha Obed.

Treichville Stadium, (Official Capacity - 35,000), but with overflow crowd and infield
seating, nearly 45,000 fans attended.

The Live Gate = $638,000
Cost for Event = $255,000
Fight Purse, Elisha Obed = $66,000
Fight Purse, Sea Robinson = $22,000

The event was financed by Ivory Coast President, Felix Houphouet

Elisha Obed was the 'heavy favorite' {10-1 odds}, and the 24 year-old Champion predicted a
'4th round Knock-out', over the older but far less experienced Sea Robinson.

The Referee, was American Jay Edson, who Referee'd '3' WBC Light-Middleweight
Championship bouts in 1976
* 2/28/76 -- Elisha Obed vs Tony Gardner
* 4/24/76 -- Elisha Obed vs Sea Robinson
* 6/18/76 -- Elisha Obed vs Eckhard Dagge

Fight Records list Sea Robinson as having a 7-1-2 (2 KO's) record when he faced
Elisha Obed for the WBC Light-Middleweight Championship.

But, the WBC list from back in April 1976, has the 30 year-old Ivory Coast fighter
with a record of 19-1-3 (6 KO's) and a #9 WBC-ranking.

Biggest Wins, prior to fighting for the WBC Light-Middleweight Championship -

May 30, 1974 - When he stopped (KO 9) Miloud Cerra Cheraka {15-7-4} for the
African Boxing Union Light-Middleweight Championship.

July 4, 1975 - When he won a {W Dec 8} over Congo Welterweight, Clement Tshinza {22-6-4}

Championship Bout (WBC Champion, Elisha Obed vs #9 Sea Robinson)

As per Referee, Jay Edson - Sea Robinson fought aggresively from the 'Opening bell through the
6th Round, and was ahead in the bout. But, Elisha Obed nailed Robinson with a 'big right-hand' in
the 7th Round, which 'turned the tide'. From that point on, Robinson fought defensively and without
aggression, in fear of getting hurt again. Elisha Obed scored easily over the 'second half of the bout'
without too much retaliation from the Ivory Coast boxer.

Jay Edson scored it;..... 9-3-3 in Rounds (Elisha Obed)
