Why do people bother regurgitating this as fact? At the start of the 12th taylor was bright, up on his toes and going at Froch....It was only after Froch had caught him with a creamer straight down the pipe about a minute into the last that Taylor started to look troubled, nothing to do with gassing.

My point is more on the fact that they were all great performances/fights. |

Let's not forget that McClellan was suffering from brain clots and was having problems in training before Benn ever threw a punch. Probably the most visceral fight I have ever seen. The nerves I was suffering 10 minutes before the fight were nearly unbearable. Everybody knew it was going to violent. |

Taylor looked like he ran out of gas 4 rounds out to me. It wasn't the first time he suffered from stamina problems in a fight. |

Calzaghe By far the greatest talent of the 5 names! unified division, undefeated, beat Eubank and Collins quit rather than box him. Benn would have roughed Joe up for a few rounds but Joe would have adjusted accordingly and won on points. A bout with Froch would likely play out in a similar manner.
Benn & Eubank I would put at joint 2nd Whenever one is mentioned, so is the other and they engaged in one of the greatest British domestic rivalries and bouts in history. Both as exciting/intruiging as one another for contrasting reasons Froch would be next but he has the potential to climb higher and his resume over the past 3 years is pretty impressive win or lose Collins Cant put him in this list as he's Irish (Should change the title to Greatest British Isles SMW Ever) but he would still figure last |

![]() He had one fight at the division, and lost it to another Brit! Watson would struggle to make the top 10 (modern) British Super Middle list. An honourable mention would be more suited to Murray Sutherland, who was at the vanguard when the modern division was created... |
