Interesting. Victor McLaglen went on to a successful career as an actor, becoming a favorite of director John Ford. He was in The Quiet Man with John Wayne, among others. His son Andrew McLaglen was director of such films as Chisum, McClintock! and the absolutely dreadful Mitchell, starring Joe Don Baker (shudder).

Victor won an Oscar for "The Informer".

That was a good old time flick, I think he also played a part vs John Wayne if I remember correctly and they fought in it.

Damn, for an era when they did not train with weights like today, that guy has strong build. Some of those guys who grew up doing factory or farm work as kids, then went into sports, were animals.

That is Victor he scaled 198lbs for his bout with Johnson who at 211lbs , just 3 months after beating Burns at 192lbs, must have been pretty fat. Johnson dropped him with the first punch he threw, a stiff left to the stomach, after that he just went through the motions for the remainder of the 6 rds, allowing Vic to last the route.
