Andrzej Wawrzyk v Denis Bakhtov - June 2

10 rounds in Poland on June 2, Szpilka also fighting a 10 rounder (rumoured to be against Gonzalo Basile) on the same card.

I haven't seen much of Wawrzyk. Still only 24, and has a 25-0 record, pulled off probably the best win of his career when he beat former top amateur Claus Bertino by wide UD over 10 rounds.

Bakhtov seems to be carving out a niche for himself as the acid test for Euro prospects. Glazkov dealt with him easily but he exposed Kretschmann as a fraud (twice).

From what I've seen of Wawrzyk, looks decent technically but feather fisted and not in great shape. He seems to have improved lately though and still has plenty of time on his hands

Wawrzyk is OK, but honestly he doesn't seem to have any particular skills that really stick out or make him special.

Lack of power seems to be his main problem. Also could do with getting into better shape. Could get down to about 220 I reckon.

That is also true, he doesn't seem to be in top shape and carries a bit of flab around with him. Some work on his power would be good for him. Whatever happened to Wach, but him on that routine. Because Wachs power used to suck, but ever since he started fighting under Wasilewski and going state side his power seems to have improved greatly.

Well its a step up. Not a bad fight. Wawrzyk is alright, hes got a good jab...but lack of power.

It was an exciting fight actually. Wawrzyk won, but was in big trouble twice doing a major chicken dance and going down once. It's obvious he has a weak chin and doesn't know how to stand his ground, partly because he has a limp, shitty jab, which allowed Bhaktov to just lunge on him and throw powerful hooks. Plus I suspect he is soft mentally. His accuracy and not panicking when he was in trouble were the only good things I saw in this fight. He's also not bad when going backwards but does it far too much for a big man. Wawrzyk is euro level material.

Pretty much this. He was all over the fucking place to be honest not to disrespect anyone who steps in the ring but it looked kinda funny (good material for ESB chincheckers). He looks no better than decent, it doesn't seem he is able to improve greatly.
