Default Chavez vs Laporte

I have three more rounds to watch tomorrow. After the point deduction to Chavez I have Laporte ahead by a point. I somehow missed this and Chavez vs Lockridge the first time around. Any memories of your scorecards for these two fights.

Laporte looked a really good fighter when he pulled his thumb out of his arse.My first fights of his that I saw were against Gomez and McGuigan, and he didn't cover himself in glory in any of those fights.

He was really impressive against Chavez and it was a hell of a fight with some vicious exchanges throughout.I had him barely losing, but I no longer have access to my old scorecards.

I had Lockridge losing(8-4 to Chavez). An interesting watch for anyone who think's Chavez was lacking in versatility.

The thing about this fight that I remember was reading about it in KO magazine. (I didn't see the fight until years later.) KO said there were several close rounds that could have gone either way, had LaPorte winning by one point, and called it the robbery of the year.
When I finally saw the fight, I thought that it was a very hard fought, competitive bout, but that Chavez won.

Chavez was clearly landing the cleaner shots in the fight.

Laporte was with him trading shot for shot all the way, but the quality of punch was not quite there.

Best chin I ever saw. Bar none, with all due respect to
Chuvalo, Lamotta, and Cobb.
