Default Should pacquiao Go Back to 140 If He Fights Way Beyond the Hill?

Legs are the first things to go, and power is one of the last. manny uses his legs as his main form of defense. The leg movements provide the angles for him to unleash his attacks. Fighters become flat footed and begin to rely on their power as they age. pacquiao has already shown clear signs of leg deterioration. It'll be harder and harder for him to use the legs to evade; his chin will be taking more. If he fights beyond his stay, will he move back to light welterweight where his power would be more effective and the opponents power less so?

It's hard telling. Manny's style is a young man's style and I don't know how he's made it this long, with all the wars. But, I could see moving back down extending his years, if he wanted to keep fighting. As I hear it, this poor man has to decimate entire Mongolian reindeer farm populations in training camps, just so he can be one pound heavier than he was for Diaz on fight night. It's really shocking, but that can't be good for your arteries, regardless. What were we talking about? Oh, yeah, Calzaghe slapped so much. BHOP KO2 Calzaghe, prime for prime.

not sure

at 140 the guys would be quicker than the welters

at welter Manny has a crazy speed advantage because he started light and retained speed

also his body has taken some punishment he took some big shots from bigguys like cotto and margo and clottey but hasnt been in a war in a while

if manny can avoid punishment and if he continues to age well 147 to me is the better option

if he slows enough can he really survive toe to toe at 147, but if he slows enough is he fast enough for 140

Manny can't make 140 without compromising himself. He's getting up there in age.

Well when you're way beyond the hill you can't give concessions anymore. It's different from back in your prime for example when you didn't have to bring your A game for a B level fighter. Over the hill you'll have to fight where you're best less you wanna get brain damage

so yea 140 unless he somehow can't make that anymore

He'll be retired before he hits Roy Jones type free fall deterioration IMO...isn't he running for govnah? Once that happens, he's done with boxing.

While not way beyond the hill he is clearly pass prime now. He landed a few good shots on Saturday that would have undoubtedly have more effect on light welters.

I think he can still make 140 pretty easy. He was 143 in his last fight with Marquez.

The guy was weighed 138 3 years ago against Hatton. Im sure he can make 140 without compromisibng himself

It might be to late for him to go down, should have done it after clottey.
Its best to rematch bradley, get the fair decision this time, then retire or have a final fight, maybe an easy one in the phillipines as a farewell type fight or a final one vs jmm with fair scoring.
