Quigg vs. Munroe thoughts, predictions?

This Saturday, we have a GREAT fight to start out boxing day out with. . .

Featuring the two best 122 pounders in England, and two of the top ten in the world. . . Or close enough. . .


I really think Munroe could end Quigg. . He's vastly more experienced, and despite lacking punching power, is a strong ass dude. He's also a great body puncher, and has a GREAT chin, and stamina.

Quigg has all the tools - speed, power. . But he's been floored. . . And has only been 12 once.


I still think Quigg will ultimately prevail, overocming some tough moments to win a decision.

munroe too strong and experienced i think he'll get to him late after going behind on the cards cos he can be a slow starter

Terrific match up. Munroe is rather over rated IMO, he had his shot at world level and got dominated. However, Quigg hasn't had his shot at world level. Really compelling match up, I'm not going to make a prediction.

I agree completely with this assessment. . . Munroe might not have the skills, but he's got the intangibles - tough as nails, and physically strong, with the stamina of an ox. I don't really want to make a "clean" prediction either. . But I'm leaning towards Quigg overcoming any adversity, and eeking it out.

I'll go for Quigg. folloyed his career over the last 10 fights now. Looks pretty good.

Munroe is too experienced for him, instead of using the things that originally made him such a good prospect, Quigg has abandoned a lot of these traits and fights like a typical Joe Gallagher fighter and that style is being found out all too often these days (Paul Smith, Stephen Smith, John Murray, Anthony Crolla) and I predict it will be found out again on saturday night.

Probably. . I guess my credulity allowed my to believe that we had real, hardcore boxing fans who viewed pugilism as an international sport, and followed all the major fights around the world. . .

Possibly true. . Good point. .

But Quigg, unlike those guys, has REAL attributes like speed, and punching power. . He's got everything you'd want a boxer to be naturally blessed with.

yes but quigg probably has never even been broadcast out side his country yet. so its asking alot.

Either way, its better than 90% of the treads on here.

i agree with this.

Will be exposed at the higher level.

We seem to have alot of fighters at the minute that are very good, but just seem slightly short of world level.

Just in general, though. . Look at all the great fights we have this weekend, and how little discussion we have, compared to the SAME OLD, SAME OLD topics. . . Lee/Chavez, Adamek/Chambers, Byrant Jennings fight. .

Munroe/Quigg. . The first page should be filled with threads about these fights!
