The early beatings. I got humbled pretty quickly. Starting at 14 and losing my first 6 in a row. Broke me down and showed me I was nothing. I had to work to prove to myself I was something and have done so. I know this thread probably means technically but those fights brought me on as a fighter so much.

thats definently true, just had that experience a while ago, was able to keep up with my sparring partners well now, then yesterday i sparred the more experienced guy and ended up crumpling and being afraid of his power, being to cautious, did not throw enough, tried to survive and ended up getting beaten with a broken ego again when i thought i was getting good too but i'm glad this happened, i always get better this way

It's the only way to move on. You can't just get comfortable with the guys in front of you. The only way to improve properly is to take on steadily better opposition.

i learned a lot from recording sparrings with camera. i watched every and made comentary in notebook of every meaningful situation. i had no amateur fights, so this and coach are the most i can learn from.

When I sparred against a guy I never sparred before and I had no idea how good he was. And when we did spar I got beat up real bad. That made me more of a nice guy because when I got comfortable sparring in the gym I was getting little cockier, but after getting that beat up it gave me a taste of reality. There is always someone better than you out there.

I agree I lost my first 3 in a row, not because lack of skills or talent but I would freeze up in front of a big crowd and get so nervous that it would affect my performance severely. I wasnt afraid to get hit, or lose but to be humiliated in front of a large group of people Guys I know I could beat easy if I just would fight like i did in the gym. Than in my fourth fight, I just said fuck it im going to go out there and have fun nothing can happen to me that hasnt happened before. I've already been humiliated. I went in loose and relaxed and I put on a great performance and won my fight

Against anyone: Take nothing for granted.
After disappearing from gym (as usual) and doing nothing but shadow boxing and double ended bag, this guy said to me after sparring:"What the fuck, your so fucking fast, noone around here has your speed". I dont recall even feeling fast in that session...
