It's hard to give him a pass when he's arguably the dirtiest fighter in the game right now. I don't care about the jaw. He and his fans are a laughing stock because they thought they had an easy fight and ended up getting a rude awakening. I'm not perfect either but this thread isn't about me. Ortiz is average. Not spectacular. Not awful. Just average.

I hear what your saying but if it was expected of him to finish the fight then the referee what have just stopped it not ask him " do you want to continue ". You signed up for this my man. Yeah it hurts. It's boxing. Elite Boxing. Gimme 9 frigging minutes you've been training 8 weeks for this fight. Don't Quit. Eye cuts normally refs or docs stop fights. You've very rarely see if ever seen a ref stop the fight cause a jaw was broken. Ortiz has too much quit in him to ever be an ATG or make any real money.

You can't fault Ortiz for doing what the majority of fighters would do. Because if you were to draw up a list of guys who did quit from broken jaws, I'm pretty sure it would be a hell of a lot longer than those who didn't. |
