I like both these guys, but that will create one crappy unified champion.

I like it, I like it. . . Two small WW's. . . One a come forward, aggressive puncher, and the other a fast moving, jab-heavy, outside dominant boxer. . . Good style mesh. . .

Paulie doesn't hit hard enough to deter Lopez from continuously trying to come in the front door, so that means more potential two-way action. . . Although Paulie certainly does seem to either be sitting down on his punches more, or has got slightly heavier hands from not cutting weight, he still doesn't hit near as hard as Ortiz. . . But of course Paulie is a LOT better boxer. . .

I ultimately see Paulie winning a 117-111 type decision, but in a fight that might be a little more competitive due to Lopez making Paulie work every second of every round. . .

GReat fight suggest. . . Ortiz has a rematch clause, but I assume he'll be out at least 6 months. . . I'm not sure how the clause was dictated, but hopefully Lopez will be able to take a fight in the meantime. . .

And MOST IMPORTANTLY - GOlden Boy promotes both, or at least has a working relationship with Lopez (and he's NOT TOP RANK), so THE FIGHT CAN HAPPEN!

Should be fun Mallignaggi would likely get a UD here.

If the immediate rematch isn't made, then this will be a good fight!

Although you get the feeling that GBP won't match them up that quick. Better to have two welterweight champions in your stable, than just one. Paulie will likely go on to fight Alexander, whilst Lopez will have to endure Ortiz again .

I'm actually hoping we can have a Paulie vs Chris van Heerden fight...I knw it is prob a low reward fight for Malignaggi tho (cos Chris' IBO title doesn't mean much on the world stage)

If they can't make that fight I wouldn't mind seeing Paulie fight Bailey.

Lopez only won the Silver title, so hes not really a world champion . . . probably could fight someone for the WBC vacant title

Selcuk Aydin (Turkey)
Devon Alexander (US)
Thomas Dulorme (P. Rico) NABF
Victor Ortiz (US)
Robert Guerrero (US)
Anton Novikov (Russia) CISBB
Kell Brook (GB)
Ed Paredes (US) LATINO
Dennis Laurente (Phil)
