Yeah, true. Ortiz is a headcase and relative to world-class boxers, doesn't have much heart/mental toughness.

What kept Ali fighting even though his jaw was gone? Drive. Compulsion. He didn't even know his jaw was broke because he came to win.

Listen to Ortiz, watch and listen to him quit at the end of the broadcast.
He is undriven.

I'm not faulting him as a boxer for stepping out as he did, but it takes alot of courage, guts, belief and confidence to continue on in that battered condition. Most people don't have what it takes to keep going win, lose or draw, Ortiz didn't have it.

It's a pattern with Ortiz. He is severely mentally weak. When things got bad with Maidana, he quit and said as much. When things got bad with Floyd, he started throwing Headbutts and got put in his place. When things get bad in this one, he quits.

If it was a one-off, it would be different. This guy has the mental fortitude of a lemming.

Fighting until the bitter end is their job. That is why i am not a boxer. I do not need to do that. I am a fan for a reason. It is what seperates me, and them.

Complete and utter bullshit.

Of course his family comes first. Dying in the ring to satiate some weird blood lust from some weiro like you probably isnt high on his list of priorities.

i would have no problem with ortiz quitting if he hadnt already done it before. last saturday he cemented his legacy as a quitter, as someone who has no heart that quits when the shit hits the fan. he has to be the least respected boxer in world now. theres no coming back from this. ali fought with a broken jaw. so did abraham and im sure his injury was more serious and painful than ortiz's. if they can do it, why cant ortiz? ortiz has a vagina and so do u for defending this trans***ual.
