I would have to say that Calzaghe was a better athlete. He was a bigger man but had very light feet and fast hands. Guys his size don't bounce in and out like that.

I don't think he is the most athletic ever, thats reaching.
All these clowns talking about him being white or latino, who cares? If hes spanish decent hes white, if he is roots are from argentina, he is latino. Its that simple. Puerto Rico has alot of white people that are spanish decent and has latino's, and black people. Americans are too weird about this stuff. |

Well someone needs to inform 86.4% of the population of Argentina who identified themselvs as being ethnically European on their census that they're incorrect and not in fact White
[ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Argentina[/ame] "between 1850 and 1950.....Argentina was second only to the United States in the number of European immigrants received. The majority of these European immigrants came from Italy, Spain, Germany, Wales, Poland, Croatia, Russia, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Norway and several other regions" |

Roots and being of X descent are the same thing...and 86% of the people are of European descent having immigrated there in the last few generations. Only 8% of the country are Mestizo's. It's a immigrant nation.

Quick Lesson For All You Morons Who Don't Have A Clue:
Hispanics/Latinos are not a race. It is a cultural designation, again, not a race. Which means Hispanics/Latinos can be White, Black, Asian, Native, Mixed... whatever. I will now show you three athletes who are HISPANIC, but obviously different races. "Big Papi", baseball player for the BoSox [Obviously of African descent- i.e. BLACK] [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Juan Manuel Del Potro, tennis player from Argentina [Obviously of European descent- i.e. WHITE] http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_cgyBfTsd5p.../del-potro.jpg Maradona [Mother was Italian Immigrant and Father was Native Indian, so he's a Mestizo Mix] http://www.5aside.co.uk/uploaded/ima...na-smaller.jpg All three of the people above are Hispanics/Latinos, but they are different races. So, yes, Sergio is a Hispanic/Latino, but as far as his race goes... he's definitely European (White). He might have a Native ancestor somewhere in his lineage, though, I don't know his whole history... but just by looking at him you can tell he's of mostly European descent.. Class is now over. F'ing Christ. |

Personally, I'm a Hispanic of mixed race, White and Indian (Mestizo)... ...and it drives me nuts when people can't comprehend that Hispanics are not a race. Eh, whatever. |

As far as the thread goes, I'd say Sergio is up there, but definitely not the best ever. Very talented cat and I can't wait to see him beat Jr.'s ass.

I'm with you. I get so annoyed by that myself. And it's not just regular people, but politicians, celebrities, etc that incorrectly say hispanic is a race. Drives me fuckin crazy.
