What fighter would out counter or out skill Whitaker

Thomas Hearns, Sugar Ray Leonard, and prime Donald Curry I think were capable of "out skill - ing" Whitaker. Curry would have been a handful for Whitaker with his counter punching skills.

The only two guys I can think of would be Hearns and Duran. Hearns could outskill/outbox Whitaker on the outside purely because of his physical dimensions, it would be much easier for Hearns to land on Whitaker than it would be for Whitaker to land on Hearns. Duran could outskill him on the inside only if he could make the fight with Pea occur against the ropes - but I'd still expect Pea to be competitive. But I can't see anyone out-countering Pea and I can't see anyone his own size outskilling him.

Probably a few who could better him on the outside with counters & potshots. No one "out-skills" Whitaker though.

If any of these three were to beat Whitaker it would be due to height, reach and speed..not for any of them "outskilling" the Pea.

Some might beat him because of other advantages (height, reach, weight, speed, strength, power etc.)

Skills-wise he's as good as anyone ever has been at the weight.
