2) Sonnen will be on TRT again but this time with legal levels. 3)It's def a bad style matchup for Silva he's game is measuring peoples reach, footwork range etc. Sonnen is hard to read because he attacks relentlessly and doesn't give Silva the time to do his thing. 4)Sonnen def fought the fight of his life but he with all the talking he did he certainly had to back it up. How many other times do fighters say they are going to do this and that but once they get in the ring they don't do shit. 5) Chael had just over a minute and half to seal the deal but fell to his achiles heel. He brought in Vinny M a high level BJJ guy to help him with his defense, I'm not sure he has ever done that before......it sure couldn't hurt. It seems very few people are giving Sonnen a chance this time around....we'll have to see. |

The first fight was so wierd to see. Silva was letting him hit him at times and getting dropped from Sonnen's punches. It was bizarre. What it seemed to me like, Silva went in there believeing 100% he could do to Sonnen what he did to Forrest. And he paid dearly for it. I also think he may have felt embarassed after Sonnen dropped him the first time, so he wanted to do something spectacular to erase it but couldn't. He just continued to get punched, taken down or dropped, and then grinded out for 23 minutes.

I expect Anderson to be more fleet footed in the rematch and move better. But Chael fights with no fear and is a beast with takedowns. so I'm interested in seeing what happens. Anderson may not be able to keep him off him. I definitely don't expect to see Anderson getting out-struck though in this fight on the feet.

The early strikes Sonnen connected with in the first meeting stunned Spider both physically and psychologically. But going into this bout Sonnen must be thinking: 'I dominated the guy for 23 minutes. What do I have to do to beat this darn guy?' That lingering self-doubt may be part of his undoing this time around. |

Sonnen will win the rematch .. In same fashion he was winning the first bout . Bad stylistic match up for silva .. Sonnen will take silva down at will again.
Silva is the better all round mma artist and ofcourse will go down as a greater fighter but styles make fights .. Sonnens all wrong for silva My opinion only ofcourse |

In that first fight, Anderson was simply demonstrating MMA's version of the rope-a-dope.
And thanks for that link, I was actually thinking of rewatching that before this weekend. |

1. Sonnen was on steroids.
2. Anderson had an injured rib. 3. Anderson walked to ring in Jiu-Jitsu GI, and had been talking about submitting Sonnen. That's what he did. This fight, he knocks him out. |
